As the first light rises over the horizon, the quiet embrace of dawn envelops the serene beauty of Burleigh Heads. Waves crash below, over the tiny shells and boulders that extend out into the Coral Sea. Burleigh Heads is an iconic natural landmark for both locals and tourists. The area was formed between 20 and 23 million years ago from molten lava due to numerous eruptions of Mount Warning. The flowing lava covered hundreds of square kilometres, slowly moving towards the ocean. Once it met the cool ocean currents, it quickly cooled to form the areas now known as Burleigh Heads National Park and Point Danger.

I have always enjoyed capturing the beauty of this unique and diverse place - from its world-famous surfing break and the lush rainforest located on the headland. It’s an endless canvas of beauty to capture no matter where you look. I positioned my tripod directly in front of a patch of what appeared to be millions of tiny shells, rocks, and coral that were gradually eroding away with each incoming wave. The vast ocean seemed to go on forever, and as the sun began to rise, it painted the sky with a breathtaking canvas of deep blue and fiery orange hues. The colours in perfect balance as they spread out throughout the clouds above.

Common Questions

What does ‘Limited Edition’ mean?

Limited Edition means that there will only ever be a pre-determined number of prints produced of each photograph. Once the edition sells out, there will never be another reprint or sale of that photograph from the artist.

How do you hang the artwork?

All of our pieces will arrive with the necessary hanging equipment already attached to the back of the frame. In addition, one set of drywall anchors will be included with each purchase for mounting on drywall only. For more detailed information on how to hang your artwork, please refer to our FAQs page.

How long will shipping take?

We know you’ll be waiting in anticipation to receive your new artwork at your door! Orders are generally dispatched within 14 days after you place your order. Once shipped, the arrival timeframe is an additional 7-14 business days, depending on the final destination and courier. Please note that we cannot ship to a PO Box, and remote areas might need more time for shipping.  If there is going to be a delay beyond this timeframe, we will be in touch.

Can I see the artwork in person?

Absolutely! In fact, we encourage everyone to come to experience the fine art prints in person. The Marc James Gallery is located at 1C/34 Tallebudgera Creek Road, Burleigh Heads.

What is your refund and return policy?

Marc James Limited Editions are custom-made, and as such, if you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, you may return it within 7 days of receipt and receive store credit for a future purchase. Returned items need to be in a like-new condition.  All artwork goes under a final quality assurance inspection before being carefully packed to ensure its safety during shipping. Every piece is also insured during transit. In the unlikely event that your order arrives damaged, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery to qualify for a replacement, and we’ll organise it, free of charge. However, any damage reported outside of this window will not be eligible for a replacement.

All Marc James' pieces are printed on one of the highest-grade fine art materials available today - aluminium dye sublimation printing. This special process involves sublimating the ink directly onto a sheet of light-reactive white aluminium using heat and pressure. The result is a print with exceptional brightness, vibrancy, and clarity that most other printing techniques cannot match. The prints are so luminous that they almost appear backlit at times.

The final product merges this with a hidden frame attached to the back to let the piece float elegantly off your wall, creating the perfect modern art piece for any home or space.
